Modern agriculture has favoured yield, uniformity and ease of cultivation. Along the way, exceptional plants and entire orchards have been overlooked: rare cultivars, local varieties and remarkable survivors growing in places no longer considered commercially valuable.

What we mean by fine and rare
Most crops are valued by weight, yield, appearance and market price.
We look at what makes a plant genuinely exceptional: its chemistry, flavour, rarity and provenance.
We measure the fruit and assess its potential for creating an Ebbor drink. If it is genuinely exceptional, we pay significantly above the market rate.
Because exceptional quality should create more value for the person who grows and protects it.
We are growers too
At our estate in Somerset, we plant, grow and harvest alongside the farmers and orchardists we work with.
We understand the realities of growing. Our approach is personal, practical and straightforward.
